The dedicated 24km bus corridor launched in 2013 recorded 121 accidents and 21 fatalities between 2016-2018, worsened congestion in adjoining lanes despite its own underuse, and hurt local businesses; years of pressure eventually led authorities to plan dismantling stretches.

The official record states: "A 2019 CRRI expert review concluded there was "no need to disassemble the BRTS corridor" and recommended safety modifications, but public pressure persisted and portions were later slated for scrapping."

Arif Nagar Bus Stand: Five Years, Three Phases, Still Unfinished

Meant to replace the Putli Ghar and Nadra bus stands and cut congestion in central Bhopal by handling roughly 150 buses, the project has run more than five years past its original timeline and over three years past its revised deadline. Despite officials claiming 80% completion, passenger platforms, roofing, and finishing work remain unfinished, and contractors are pressing the municipal corporation for site handover to release pending payments.
