Sanctioned in 2014 with a 2016 deadline, Andhra Pradesh's longest flyover (2.6 km, spanning the Krishna River, Prakasam Barrage and Buckingham Canal) missed repeated revised deadlines and was finally opened only in October 2020, four years late, after its cost nearly doubled. An extra ₹100 crore was spent just on shifting drinking-water pipelines for land acquisition along the route.
The official record states: "Officials cited "shortage of funds and shortage of material and machinery," compounded by the technical difficulty of building a single-pillar six-lane structure over the river."
