On record

Barely three weeks after the final 76-km Igatpuri-Amane stretch of the Samruddhi Mahamarg (Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg) opened on June 5, 2025, its asphalt surface came off at seven locations following heavy rain, with videos of the potholes going viral and drawing mockery aimed at the highways ministry.

The official record states: "The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) said the asphalt "had come off at seven locations, with stones dislodging in the process," but called the damage "very negligible" and said it was promptly repaired by a dedicated maintenance team."

“Three weeks after the final stretch opened, the asphalt came off in seven places. Samruddhi means prosperity.”— Blunderlust Editorial Desk
