A partially built span of this flyover collapsed during construction in October 2021; then, within a day of its official inauguration in February 2025, a chunk of concrete fell and damaged a passing car; by August 2025 wide gaps had opened between deck segments. The contractor (GDCL) claimed the fallen material was construction "waste," not part of the structure.
The official record states: "NHAI attributed the August 2025 gaps to "missing rubber seals," saying there was "no cause for alarm"; the builder said the February concrete fall was waste material, not a structural piece."
