On record

A road connecting Workshop Chowk to the DAV College flyover in Jalandhar, built at a cost of ₹10 crore, collapsed just 10 months after completion. Objections about the construction had reportedly been raised earlier by officials but were dismissed by the engineers who built it.

The official record states: "Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abhijeet Kaplish said the road was built by the sewerage board and that "engineers assured that the road would withstand any issues," but an inquiry led by two retired engineers was ordered to fix accountability."

Shaheed S. Beant Singh Park: Renovated, Then Reduced to Ruins

A 5-acre park named after a former Chief Minister was renovated in 2019 with a fountain, lighting, benches and a walking track, but has since fallen into disrepair with broken swings, overgrown pathways, open sewage, garbage accumulation, stray animals and reported gambling on the premises, driving away residents who once used it for daily walks.
