On record

Billed as Madhya Pradesh's longest flyover (7 km, including a 192-metre single-span cable-stayed bridge over a railway line) and inaugurated in August 2025 to cut travel time between Damoh Naka and Madan Mahal from 40 minutes to 7, cracks were reported on the structure even before it opened to the public, prompting an inspection by the state PWD.

The official record states: "PWD Additional Chief Secretary Neeraj Mandloi said "the visible cracks are due to seasonal changes affecting the expansion joints, which are deliberately left for weather-related adjustments," and that "no cracks have been found in the pillars or the internal structure.""

“The state's longest flyover, ₹1,200 crore, cracked before the public had finished using it for the first time.”— Blunderlust Editorial Desk

Madan Mahal Flyover

About eight months after inauguration, chunks of concrete began falling from the Madan Mahal section of this flyover, captured on video and widely shared; residents say they are now afraid to use the underpass beneath it after earlier reports of joint gaps and cracks.
