Sanat Nagar Flyover: Repeated Missed Deadlines — photo 1

On record

Proposed by NHAI in 2020 with an original June 2024 completion deadline, this flyover on the Srinagar bypass has missed at least three successive deadlines (June 2024, June 2025, September 2025, and again in November 2025), causing daily traffic chaos on one of the city's busiest stretches. As of November 2025 it was still not fully open despite officials repeatedly declaring it "almost ready."

The official record states: "Delays were attributed to a 132 KV high-voltage transmission line running above the construction site and a shortage of suitable soil for construction."

“Four deadlines in eighteen months, each one announced as final.”— Blunderlust Editorial Desk

Srinagar Smart City Drainage Failure

Despite ₹792 crore spent under the Smart City project, major roads, hospitals and residential areas continue to flood after just hours of rain, most recently in July 2026 when dozens of neighbourhoods were submerged; SMC identified ~60 waterlogging hotspots citywide.
