On record

Work on this 4.6 km flyover connecting Burdwan Road to Mahatma Gandhi More stalled for two years over unresolved railway land issues before resuming in mid-2023. Nearly seven years after construction began, the project has missed a string of deadlines (2023, April 2024, April 2025 and June 2025), leaving the service road and flyover deck still incomplete.

The official record states: "Authorities cited "issues related to railway land" that needed inter-departmental resolution before work could resume, plus funding and contractor-related complications."

“Stalled two years over railway land, resumed in 2023, and still a flyover to nowhere in its seventh year.”— Blunderlust Editorial Desk
