The flyover's foundation was laid in November 2017 but stalled for years over design changes, alleged design flaws, and land acquisition; it was finally dedicated by CM Hemant Soren on October 4, 2024, nearly eight years after starting, and only after a design overhaul to a precast segmental box girder system.
The official record states: "Officials cited land acquisition problems and a 2019 government-ordered redesign as reasons for delay; the CM's office said the revised design allowed completion "in a record time of around two years" once restarted."
