Mumbai's first skywalk linked Bandra station to Kalanagar and was briefly used by over 100,000 pedestrians daily, but the Bandra East and West skywalks were later dismantled; 17 of 18 further planned MSRDC skywalks were cancelled.
The official record states: "Officials cited "alignment conflicts with other development plans" (e.g. Dharavi redevelopment) and low usage for scrapping/demolishing several skywalks."
