On record
Part of a roughly 27 km flyover corridor built from 2005 by Somdatt Builders on NH-2, this section near the Panki Gas Depot intersection developed significant cracks in two beams along with fractured bearings, discovered and photographed by residents in April 2021. Traffic from Naubasta toward Bhauti was banned on the flyover and diverted to service lanes, causing heavy congestion while NHAI launched a structural probe.
The official record states: "The project director stated the "flyover was designed considering overloading capacity" and that "cracks may not have resulted from overloading," with the exact cause left to further NHAI investigation."

“Two cracked beams and fractured bearings on a national highway, found by residents with a camera rather than an engineer with a schedule.”
“Traffic from Naubasta was pushed onto the service lane, where it has stayed while NHAI investigates.”
“The project director says the flyover was designed for overloading, so the cracks must have come from somewhere else entirely.”
