When Greater Noida Authority built a new four-lane bridge alongside an old two-lane one over the Hindon river roughly 25 years ago, it never demolished the original. That bridge has since developed large pillar cracks and eroded foundation soil, yet pedestrians and cyclists still use it.
The official record states: "Not specified: the Authority has not published a reason for leaving the old bridge standing and unrepaired."
