An overhead shed under construction at Bongaigaon railway station collapsed on August 2, 2022 while workers were installing it, injuring eight labourers who were rushed to a private hospital with grave injuries. The shed was being fitted by contractor Tribeni Constructions when it lost balance and fell on the workers below.
The official record states: "Bongaigaon Superintendent of Police Swapnaneel Deka said "the overhead shed lost balance while being fitted.""
