On record

Half of the Araria-Narpatganj stretch of NH-27 (part of a highway that runs from Silchar, Assam to Porbandar, Gujarat) collapsed on a Saturday night during heavy rainfall, causing an overloaded truck to overturn into a roadside ditch. One lane was shut for repairs afterward.

The official record states: "NHAI engineer Kumar Saurabh said "the incident occurred due to a rain cut. The truck was overloaded and overturned after veering off the side. Maintenance is being addressed.""
